Motorcycles can be an efficient and fun way to commute to work every day. Just like any other vehicle on the road, motorcycles can be involved in serious collisions. Due to the lack of protection for bikers, motorcycle accidents can result in serious and fatal injuries. Accident victims, or the surviving families of deceased victims, typically find comfort in the support and assistance of a personal injury attorney following a serious collision. Sadly, one Pennsylvania family and community is grieving the loss of beloved firefighter after he was involved in a crash while riding his bike.

The fireman was using his motorcycle to commute to work. He reportedly had served as a fireman in his community for 11 years and was well-liked by his peers. Before arriving at work, an SUV struck his bike, and he suffered serious injuries.

The details of the accident are still being determined, but initial reports believe that the driver of an SUV was speeding and lost control of the vehicle. Reports indicate that when the SUV topped a hill, it became airborne and collided with another SUV. It also hit the fireman’s motorcycle, resulting in the fatal crash. Criminal charges against the SUV driver have not been filed, but authorities anticipate that there may be enough evidence for charges to be filed. Sadly, the accident resulted in the fireman’s death despite multiple attempts by medical personnel to save his life.

Understandably, fatal motorcycle accidents such as this one are tragic. Grieving families typically find it difficult to process the aftermath of a complicated crash on their own. Many enlist the knowledge of a skilled Pennsylvania personal injury attorney to assist them with insurance claims and/or filing a lawsuit in civil court against the presumed negligent party.
