Understandably, a collision with a tractor-trailer can result in property damage, serious injury or death. Unfortunately, some truck accidents may be the result of driver error or company negligence in failing to adhere to proper safety precautions. A recent collision with a tractor-trailer in Pennsylvania resulted in multiple injured victims for the riders of a bus.

It is unknown how many passengers were traveling on the bus, but it is known that 26 people were injured. Victims were transported to multiple different medical facilities for treatment. Reportedly, most victims stabilized and have been released. One facility stated that three victims were seriously injured and remain in critical condition.

Investigators are still investigating the collision, but it is initially believed that the tractor-trailer rear-ended the bus. The collision caused both vehicles to flip onto their dies in the median. It is unknown if the tractor-trailer driver was injured or exactly what precipitated the collision.

The expenses and financial losses that typically accrue from serious truck accidents can accumulate quickly for victims and families of deceased victims. Coping with the resulting financial stress following an accident can be difficult while attempting to recover from injuries. Unfortunately, some injuries may require years of medical treatment and therapy with continued expenses. Families of deceased victims must manage funeral expenses and often the loss of a victim’s contributed income. Pennsylvania personal injury attorneys can advise victims of their legal rights and options following a collision and can advocate for victims if legal action is pursued in civil court.
